They are no doubt the most die hard romantics one can ever find..
Caught 2 Korean movies on Demand TV within a week..
The Art of Seduction and Daisy..
For the former, even though lies and deceit are present, you can still find the romantism between the antagonists..
For the latter..
Undoubtedly, a tragedy..but that’s the point..
I guessed most Koreans decipher fairy tales as not one that is
“Happily Ever After..”
But rather..
How beautifully some occurrences end..
They do accept that nothing lasts forever..
Hence zealously cherishing the gem in that ending..
Perhaps to them
Things should end when they are at their most splendid grandeur..
So that others will remember only most magnificent moments and memories..
This musing has been in me since the day I started thinking a lot..
Perhaps warped, but I do believe that beautiful intervention should end at their most alluring..
That is, before they ever have a chance to turn ugly..
A harmonious enchanment isnt it?

2 years into my working life..
Without a doubt, I’ve grown (old) and learnt a fair lot..
I see the structure of organisations like I never did at an academic level..
I see how trading between allies and rivals is done..
I have transformed from a first grade computer idiot to a negative grade one..
I’m not reluctant towards sending emails anymore..
I see the efficient way Westerners handle their work..
I manage to earn my driving licence..
I am able to sign up for a course that I'm interested in..
And..
I earned a first self-paid trip to Hong Kong..
Yet,
I have to say these 2 years in the corporate world has left me jaded, chipped and disillusioned..
Bitching, complaining..
I never thought I could do something like that..
Everytime I did..
Remorse plunge onto me..
I felt rotten..
I’m on my way towards the conformance of a “smart and sly” office worker and then grounding myself all over again..
Is the fond illusion of doing something you like everyday at work so difficult to attain right ‘ere?
I refused to belive that preoccupation..
I want someone there to tell me that yes, it is possible..
Go work towards it..
If you have the will, there will be a way..
And not..no, it’s never possible in Singapore..
This is not entirely self deceit nor being impractical..
At least it’s different from my self-delusion that I’ll be able to survive and love my job..
At least I wont have to seek the sanctuary of the office toilet to allow my tears to flow freely..
At least I know that being idealistic for a while will not cost me my bread and butter..

I missed the days when we sabotaged my form teacher..
I missed the days when my form teacher sabotaged my principal..
I missed the days when we went hiking together..
I missed the days when we threw eggs and flour at each other..
I missed the days when we fed the fish in the pond, buried a dead friendly crow and threw flowers from the school’s yard onto the small earthy hump..
I missed the water hyacinths and water lettuce in the pond..
I missed seeing roosters pecking around and rabbits hopping about..
I missed being a kid..
