Guess this

*L's staple food*

The show wasnt as intriguing as the Death Note series.
Rather, it was a spin-off from the Death Note that probed deeper into the outlandish personality of L.
Folks who arent fans of Death Note can actually watch this without getting lost, albeit Death Note part one actually gave a more dramatic introduction of L.
The Japanese are indeed always on the ball to discover some unique concepts and interesting and spohisticated characters.
And L is definitely one.
Figurines of him are already in the market way before "L, change the world".

L changes the world
Predictable plot with frequent tugs at emotional chords.
It showcased the more humane side and also the weakness of L.
The theme of the movie:
"L cannot solve problems that does not require thinking"
So much for its truth.
He is now forced to face and deal with unpredictably motived human beings.
An impeccably intelligent and witty character with a weird demeanor of typing and eating doughnuts,
his hunched countenance shall be the spice of the show.
A kind and childlike him is actually satirically contradicted by the kids in the show to show a malicious truth in the modern day:

Kids can actually be more vengeful than the average adults today.

On the overall, not a bad show to catch =)

Dinner and Dance 2008

Pictures for the night, up.

Lucky draw under my care.
What an irony.

Borned in the year of the Dog

A love hate relationship

Thy department ladies

With Fifi

Secluded at a corner

The night's somewhat boring.
Before leaving home, was reluctant to turn up for this event.
Had a phenomenal hunch that I would be sabotaged.
Aye aye.
Just before they could call my name, I sneaked into the sanctuary of the toilet.
Unspontaneous with strangers.
That was me.
Only returned when dear messaged me that it was safe to return to my seat.
It was a best dressed award that they would only give it to you after you danced on the stage to the song of "脱掉"
-,-
The night ended with an unbelievable twist of luck.
But not without the morbid mortification that they would sabo the prize winners again.
Thank god, unscathed.

These were the high resolution pictures by the photographer.
Damn man, tempt me to buy a new cammie.

Sunday was a much better day.
Though freaking lethargic, spent the day being myself..

Snap snap snap
Laughed our heads off
Ate till we burst
Snap again ate again
Video somemore
Laughed till we dropped dead

Enjoying every moment..
19 years of bonded friendship and counting

*Hearts*

Hohoho

Feeling emo.
Turned up anyway with a splitting headache..

I walked around like a lost wandered soul..
Most of the people out there, I knew naught.
Even if I knew them, words spoken naught.

The poolside cocktail wasnt a bad idea.
Nice.

It would even be better if the dinner was right beside the pool and that all of them were to turn up in surfers wear.
Surfers themed that is.
Bikinis, funky tees, surfer shorts, sundresses.

Imagine boss in surfer shorts.
*Chuckles*

Why must the theme always end up as Retro Night, Shanghai Night, Saturday Night Fever, 60s, 70s, 80s..
Just because the event organisers are far too budget constrianed to buy the licence to play modern music?

*****

First dish of the night
(as usual)

The rest of the food's over soaked in sodium chloride.
And the desserts looked nicely deceiving.

I stared in astonishment as the courier walked towards us early morning.
Trying to figure out which customer or supplier that was.

Neither.

It was for me.

Dreaded.
*Please let not be my stalker or anymore..*

Then I saw dear's cheeky face.
Chuckling.

What a sweet sweet surprise..
You caught me, Ninjaturtle.

*****

They have really nice desserts.

*****

Watched the movie Jumper.
A very cool movie with good effects,
Albeit with an abrupt start and a hasty ending.
Quite a captivating show with strong climatic impacts and new concepts.

Teleporting
All around the world.
Seems like the director is experimenting new paradigms of super powers amongst typical human beings.
Testing the market's response perhaps,
and he hinted a possible sequel.

Citing Xmen, Spiderman, Fantastic Four, Heros..
I must say that it appears that American writers do have a penchance for powers and beyond.

Slightly spicy yet light and non-cheesy
(for Suki's gratification)

Happy food
Something that never fails to cheer me up

Freshly baked waffle with Mango Sorbet and Macadamia Ice Cream topped with fresh cream and warm maple syrup..

CNY 2008

A period of supposed fun, sumptuous food and good sleep.
But I had none of the above..
This year had been bored..
The mood aint there..
It was really a period of waiting, emabarrased ang bao collections and indigestion.
Since we did not manage to hail a London cab to house visits, my family and I took 2 cabs each journey for a consecutive 2 days..
And they debated and justified that it was cheaper than renting a car..

Went down to my aunt and grandma's place the first and second day..
During waiting, I fell asleep, sprawled flat on my uncle's table..
I awoke only to fell asleep again on my grandma's big bean bag..
>.<

Though bored, there are some significant annual traditions that symbolised CNY =)

Family Portraits

They dont want to budge..

I shrank

Cashless Majong
(Just nice for the 4 of us)

Cousins' gathering

Finally a proper snapshot with King..

Popping over to dear's house, we made Xeena a model..

*****

The third day was much fun filled..
Movie with my peeps, and then ktv, and then dinner @ Fish & Co..
I actually had my mood dampened already before we even reached Cathay..
Perhaps it was my fault for dragging the clock again..
Just feel like crying whenever people yell at me..
Very tired and thy paparazzi went on a strike..

But of course
The day's activities were something that I looked most forward to amongst the 4 days of legal hiatus..

CJ7

Very worthy show, timely impact and fresh faced actress(es)..
Impressed by how a cutesy little alien could make the show run..
All fit in nicely..
And it left my heavy tears to defy gravity..

I used to dislike Stephen Chow when I was very young..
Even meeting him in real person back then did not really change my opinion of him..
Cos could not really appreciate his exaggerated black humor..
But I have no idea since when I grew to like him a lot..

KTV
Very Savage Garden themed

@ Fish & Co
(We haven been taking pictures since the trip)
